As you may already know, the Falken Azenis RT-615 is the replacement of the RT-215. Falken managed to do what several other manufacturers have been trying to do (but failed) for many years… beat the RT-215 in performance. The RT-615 is faster in dry, much better in wet, lighter and has longer treadlife than the tire it replaces. Just a notch below a dedicated race tire.

We get asked the following question quite often: should I buy this tire for street use?
Our answer: It depends on your needs and expectations. The RT-615 will wear faster than most street tires, so if you commute a lot then expect to buy new sets often. Also, this tire was not designed to be particularly quiet or great in wet weather either… it is quite good in those areas but you will find better tires if those are your priorities. Some of us here at Edge Racing use the RT-615 for daily driving and we love them!

We also get asked: Is the RT-615 still the best SCCA ST class tire?
Our answer: Again, it depends. It is still the best in some sizes and applications, but there have been some new tires released (Bridgestone RE-01R) which are faster… at a hefty price premium though. So if you absolutely must be the fastest at your local events or are a top contender at national level; check our availability on the Bridgestone RE-01R. For most of our customers the RT-615 is over 95% there for a lot less dollar.
